In order to achieve our goals, DAN has 4 core programs that enable us to:

Positively influence the decision-making procedures by actively engaging in public participation procedures provided by the Mexican legal framework.

Build capacity of local communities and partners.

Early detection of development and/or extraction plans or projects that could have negative effects on the environment or violate environmental human rights. The foregoing, enabling us to initiate on time the legal actions in order to protect the environment and/or environmental human rights.

Legally confront development or extraction projects or public policies that negatively impact the environment, wildlife, landscapes or violate environmental human rights.

Demand accountability from the government at all levels.

Transparency, Access to Information and Accountability

We constantly exercise transparency and access to information rights in order get relevant public information as to keep our collaborators and partners informed.

Analysis of Public Policies and Legislation

In order to provide advice to civil organizations, individuals and communities for the protection of their environmental rights, we constantly analyze the applicable legal framework.

Environmental Litigation

By filing legal actions in collaboration with other sectors of civil society, we promote and demand the enforcement of the Mexican and international legal framework in order to protect the environment, wildlife, human environmental rights and a stable climate.

Legal advice

DAN offers a legal perspective and provides legal assistance to a continuously increasing number of communities, individuals and civil society organizations that require legal advice to strengthen their conservation initiatives and/or environmental protection efforts.
